What This Is
What This Is
A quiet, weekly record of my life as it actually is.
Not the highlights. Not the lessons.
Just the small, unimportant details that make up living.
This is a place to notice without performing, to remember without polishing, and to let ordinary days be enough.
Intentions
-
To romanticize the mundane, not escape it
-
To slow down long enough to notice
-
To keep a record for myself, not an audience
-
To honor weeks that feel full and weeks that feel empty
-
To let photos hold memories words can’t
What This Is Not
-
A productivity log
-
A self-improvement project
-
A highlight reel
-
A place to be consistent, polished, or insightful
-
Content for anyone else
The Gentle Rules
-
This is private-first.
Even if someone reads it someday, it is written to me. -
Incomplete counts.
One sentence is a valid entry. Photos alone are valid. -
No catching up required.
Missed weeks stay missed. This moves forward only. -
Ordinary is the point.
If nothing “important” happened, that is the material. -
Photos don’t need explanations.
Blurry, dark, repetitive images are welcome. -
Mood over meaning.
I don’t need to understand a week to record it. -
Some weeks get the lazy version.
Rest is part of the practice.
How Often
-
Ideally: once a week
-
Realistically: whenever I remember
-
Always: without guilt
Where This Lives
-
Written entries
-
Photos from my camera roll
-
Sometimes fragments, sometimes paragraphs
A Quiet Reminder
I am not trying to make my life interesting.
I am simply noticing that it already is.
